DESIGN PROCESS.

Inspired by Moulin Rouge on-Broadway and the 2001 film, all of the materials were sourced in NYC's garment district with the objective to design an original costume for the ensemble in "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend." These costumes are meant to symbolize the idea of "look, but don't touch." Eye-candy to their clientele, but the establishment gives them a sense of agency and mystique - as in a peacock for the stage.

Currently in the process of individually hand-sewing all of the trim and embellishments (over 75+ pieces), one-by-one, to the main fabric piece (the large-scale photo is what the final will look like once competely sewn).
